My thought is to use the hardpack alone for beach diving, as its about the most streamlined profile for entry/exit, short of having gills.

I really like my Dive-Rite transpac, but I suspect that if I add wings to the hardpack I'll be "hooked", using it for hardpack boat diving as well.

The main thing I don't like about the transpac (or any BC) is that its always there, hanging like a parachute, though the DR's elastic cover does pull it in better than most wings. The Oxycheq set-up seems pretty streamlined and your photos bear that out. 18# of lift is all I'd need anyway, so that accounts for the narrower profile of the Oxycheq, as the DR transpac wings are 30#, thus much larger.

Thanks, Chris, great advice as usual!
