Yes and no.
Obviously the idea in the end is to get an image you like which is a matter of taste. All the same the scan on the right has a lot more information to work with and is thus the "better" scan. It should be easy enough to make the one on the right look like the one on the left by increasing the contrast and pulling in the gamma on the shadow side. OTOH since the one on the left is missing a lot of shadow detail there isn't much you can do to it in post to fix it.
