What is the difference between Halcyon, OMS, and Dive Rite metal backplates? I had a guy on a boat in Kona telling me that OMS was the best one and that all the others were just wannabe copies. I don't know, that's why I'm asking. I dive with a Seaquest Black diamond. When I bought this BC I was told that it was the best thing on the market. The dive shops never told me anything about backplate rigs. My BC seems good, comfortable, and durable. Now that backplates are all the rage, does that mean that the diamond is no good now? I never see the Black Diamond rated in any magazines. Where does it stand? Is it not DIR?
