I just moved down to los angeles from the S.F. Bay area. Most of my diving has been in the Monterey/Carmel area. On my first LA dive with my fiancee' we went to Escondido beach and had a great dive. Saw a couple of bugs and various fish. When we surfaced about 200 yards out we saw a fin. Now I am not used to seeing dolphins and in SF and Marin if you see a fin theres a good chance we are talking Great white. So now here's the question. What's out there? Do I need to watch out for sharks? Or should I enjoy the friendly company of our air breathing pals?
