It's a perfectly reasonable statement, Mike.
In Monterey, those account for a big chunk of
our accidents, whether they were alone or not.
Fortunately with the coast guard so close, and the
stretch of beaches so short, medical help often does
make it in time.
As for rationale arguments for preferring solo - I
can easily do it. I like to. You can't do a cost
benefit comparison if you only look at the costs side.
You need to have pretty good buddies for that to change,
in my mind. I have some, but with limited availability.
