jim, with ALL due respect to you, i'm getting a little
tired of the following rhetoric:

"Have you had to drag bodies out of the water Fred? Have you done CPR on the beach, tring to bring back life to that
dead body?"

i'm not trivializing yours or other non-rescue/recovery
trained divers' experiences, but i'm SURE that
lifeguards have seen and attempted WAAAAAAAAAAY more
rescues than you and your friends combined...yet
you don't hear them telling us to stop swimming
or surfing or windsurfing alone, now do you?

i understand your disgust in trying to bring back
a lifeless body, and i thank you for your efforts,
but your above comment (which is also made by others,
not just you) just doesn't carry much wt in this
argument. you will lose w/that argument every
single time b/c, again w/due respect, there is
nothing special, or i should say 'more' special,
about you dragging bodies out of the water or
attempting cpr on them. (my husband has attempted
cpr on countless numbers of people over the past
decade, and most of the time it doesn't work anyway.)

kelphead.
