you can go into any community college biology classroom and chances are that you will find some 20 year old specimen happily sitting in a cabinet. I have one that i found frontside Catalina last june. It dried out on top of the wheelhouse on the way home and its been sitting in my bedroom ever since. If they do have an enzyme that promotes discoloration//deterioration, try heating the molt to say, 190 deg F for a FEW SECONDS ONLY to denature the enzyme; chances are that that will do the trick since most enzymes are heat labile (DO NOT heat it to boiling temp!)

good luck!
