I agree that novice diver's should gain some additional experience under the supervision of more experienced divers, DM's or dive with other's first until the skills necessary to survival have been mastered.. Part of the problem with some of the training, and some of the students is that they think because they have a C-card they now know how to dive... When in reality all the initial C-card does is provide an opportunity to learn more and gain experience.. Given the current push towards expediant gratification the c-card is so diluted that it barely means much anymore...
