Matt, I think that you are right about spearfishing in So Cal. I have seen a dramatic decline in the marine life in the areas that I dive (in the last 30 years). The diving community would be far better off if divers just took pictures. The commerical boats kill thousands of living ceatures daily and just listing to fish counts from the sportsfishing boats, has to make any diver sick.
I think that we are always going to have fishing, but we as divers need to show sum restrait in what we shoot and how much we take.
I don't think that your age makes a difference as to what you have posted. I have found most of your post thoughtful and will written ( you must go to a private school). So keep on posting and don't let guys with names like Rape and PILLAGE or horny bastard, bother you (they both seem to have more trouble with the thought process then you do).
