Has anyone set out the approximate costs of a DIR rig, in a rec diving context? Of course modifications to an existing rig to make it DIR-compliant would vary by diver, but perhaps a run-down of the DIR-specific items would be helpful -- i.e., backplate, wings, 5/7' hose? The various non-rec contexts where DIR is used would make a cost listing too complicated, and minor items like bungees and straps are pretty minimal so no worries on that.

If there's such a list, please provide a link; that'd be great.

Oh, don't interpret the gear Q as taking focus away from the philosophy. But it's tough to quantify philosophy.
