I don't know if you remember your geometry classes. In my school, we were taught that a cylinder has the shape of something (in lack of better words) like a piece of a salame, with both ends cut at a 90° angle. That is very important.

The scuba tank has at least one rounded ending. Which makes the British name, bottle, the most appropriate. And bottles are allowed to hold pressurized content too. Even the word tank describes a lot of other items and shapes.

There! The DOT is wrong, it is not a cylinder.
