Could the function of a lower incidence of death on Nitrox and other Mixed Gases be a function of the diver as opposed to the gas? It seems as if the divers who go after advanced certifications, especially trimix, would be less likely to panic and die underwater. They would be more likely to survive because of their advanced skills and experience. Also, from what I understand, Nitrox limits depth around 130 or less. Could this affect death rates? Finally, what are the injury rates for mixed gases or nitrox? Just some ideas.
