Hi S.,
your rock boots are effectively preventing air blowing up your booties and popping off fins. Very good choice!
It does not take more air in a drysuit than needed for neutral buoyancy to pop off fins--all it takes is an inverted position and booties too big to allow for expansion. It is not the legs but the booties alone. Blown up legs just amplify the buoyancy issue.

Just like you have a need for ankle weights, I am on the other end of the scale--my legs are too heavy as is. I have to pull them in when they sink too much or counter-balance with a tank weight.

Hey, when are you going to finish your rescue diver? I want to see you behind the acrylic :-)
