I think that if the divers in California had any idea what otters
were going to do to the diving here, it would freak them out.
Unfortunately, they are these cute furry things and few people
look beyond that. It is hard to believe how destructive they are.
Sometimes people complain, quite rightly, how damaging commercial
fishers can be to reef populations. Yet they have no idea how what
is going to happen anywhere the otters show up. Otters make the
commercial fishers look like tree hugging conservationists.
