I think we can safely bet, that majority of dives
done around here is rather shallow. Going deeper
is something you do as you gain experience and
confidence and grow bored of shallow stuff. For me
NDL comes into play on dives below 60 feet on
single standard rental ALU. 10% of my dives ends
because of deco, rest is "500 psi" or "damn cold"
or "there's nothing here". Air does the job just
fine for beach and most of island dives. Why would
I pay $8 bucks for fill when I can get one for $2?
That's why me and probably couple of other people
don't think it's worth the money to do Nitrox -
the only thing we would benefit is less fatigue
and one I personally experience after 4 dives
isn't that terrible.
It's like cars. Some prefer Civic, some prefer
F250s. Yer probably less likely to die in F250,
but try to park the monster. I'm terrible when it
comes to parking.
