A couple of points:

1) AIR II are yet another worthless piece of gear that have no business being on your rig in the first place ;-)

2) Orally inflating is definatley an option, but try to put this into perspective, which is why we keep talking about open ocean diving, let's assume you are negative, you loose the infaltion device and are now plummeting, say at the oil rigs or Farnsworth or wherever, you'll be kicking like made to stay afloat and prevent the sinking, should you add to that paniced sitiuation the need to orally inflate ( which you should do if you find yourself in that position) you can easily have a C02 buildup. That's why we keep saying don't put yourelf in that position in the first place and worry about whether the solution will work, by using AL tanks or wearing a drysuit if you need the steel, you eliminate the variable..

It's thinking the problem through BEFORE you get to the situiation, not worrying about the fix when the shit is hitting the fan..
