I was amazed that National Geographic Explorer and Dr. Sylvia Earle saw this as purely a conservation initiative. Looking at the depth of support and size of the project, the funding from the Japenese goverment appears to be very extensive. My guess is that they are VERY interested in farming the blue fin tuna as a commercial venture. Especially since a "good" one will sell for around $40,000.00
This is not a bad thing but let's at least see this for what it really looks like.
