The issue is simple.
You started out saying solo diving is unsafe. Now you are saying
that solo diving is wrong. You are clearly
saying that divers that solo are wrong. Well WHO IN THE
MOON OR HEAVENS TOLD YOU THAT! I AIN'T WRONG
TO SOLO DIVE and I get sick of hearing you saying I and a lot of other
fine divers are wrong. You aren't my or anyone elses judge. All you got
to back yourself up with is rightous indignation and the claim
that you can talk to the dead. Really, your willingness to exploit and
talk for the dead is sort of disgusting. Of that list, some would
agree and some wouldn't... or did you hold a seance after each one
died? I guess I shouldn't be surprised at what you say. That is an
arrogance typical of you.
Ya know, that would be the same as a non-diver saying that every diver
that died while buddy diving would tell you that they would never have
taken up diving if they knew it could get you killed.

As for the DIR demo, it was interesting, but it wasn't about CA sport
diving. JJ didn't go there to talk about CA diving or to explain
anything to me. He went there to talk about DIR. I wrote up some
good questions for you and you never responded. No clarification,
just a complaint that I didn't get it. I'm getting convinced that
the reason you come up with your controvercial posts is to advertise
DIR.

>Now if GUE were to give you 8 hours of training and 2 dives and then
>certified you as a cave diver how would you respond????
Cave diving is far more technical than solo diving and there are far
more hazards to learn about. Solo diving is almost identical to buddy
diving. Heck, you can even buddy dive with solo gear.. unmodified. For
a person qualified to take a solo dive class, their knowledge, gear
and skills should already be developed enough that the class should
only be a refresher and a simple description of 'best known standard
methods'. The diver will ultimately have to decide what methods are
best for their diving. A class can really only be to inform them of
what they didn't think of on their own.

Actually, I did find your statement of almost agreement interesting.
I could ask, if a class doesn't make a solo diver, what does?

Ya know, you keep repeating that solo diving is bad. You keep repeating
it slowly, then faster and faster and you change how you say it and
you've totally convinced yourself and you try to convince everyone else,
but for all your talk and wishing and hoping and weeping and chest beating,
it doesn't make solo wrong.

Enjoy the diving, seahunt
