heya Seahunt! just pretend you dont have to write that humongous check to the IRS and lighten up! Those two well known misadventures of Pyle are part of diving lore and history! It's not so much that they're not uplifting as they are down right terrifying, to those of us who can see ourselves in that situation (like almost any biologist preoccupied more with data preservation than self preservation (which has been me at times, though not in an aquatic environment)) they serve as valuable cautionary tales, visceral and immediate, rather than just DAN statistics on a spreadsheet somewhere. Terry has done a service to all the new divers who have yet to read those accounts by posting the link. It's just something that gets mentioned every year or so on the internet, and is one hell of a good read to boot.
