"Also you must remember that the DIR program is only partly about the gear. The rest is training, practice, fitness, and the right buddy."

They have set some pretty high ideals and they're vocal about them. I just want to get along, meet divers, have fun and go diving. I'm working on improving and maintaining my gear and fitness.

"I like your style in trying to built your own "DIR" system"

I've already bought two BC's and working on my third, so I'm proceeding with caution. Not to mention all the fins, wetsuits, tanks and all kinds of different gear that I've tried. I can wear just about any gear now to dive, I'm the most important piece of equipment(who said that?). I wish I started with the BP and single piece webbing. I like it because it will provide a solid foundation to mount just about any darn thing I want, single or double tanks. Wings are optional, ask Chris. No seriously, I like the bouyancy control that the wings provide.
