"Meaning, no off-roading, no motorcycles, ATVs, etc. which suddenly means 99% of the people will no longer have
access to what once were public lands."
...you mean to say that 99% of people don't have
legs to walk with or bicycle with????
= : O
oh, my gosh! that means i'm one of the lucky few!
= ; )
actually, i think it would be nice to minimize the
presence of fossil fuel guzzlers in our wilderness areas;
and btw, i don't think that "99% of the people" who
live in this country even own an atv, or motorcycle,
or suv. don't know what the exact number is,
but i'm pretty sure it's a lot less than 99%.
"Anything with a motor will be prohibited from accessing the area. Sure would make a lot of the dive spots tough to get into on most dive boats."
you know, doctors complain that the majority of
people are couch potatoes and don't
get enough exercise as it is. 'dir' divers
complain that there are divers out there who
are too out of shape to dive and can be a health
risk to themselves and even to others around them.
perhaps it's not a bad idea to rely less on
motorized contraptions and rely more on our
own human ability. hey, i'm just as out of
shape as the next person, believe you me!! but
i think that kayak diving is an awesome idea
(and if i have more time and $$, i'd like to
pursue it more)--such policy may even boost the kayak
industry, too!!!!
what happened to biking and walking and hiking
and paddling our way around...?...why must we rely 100%
on our vehicles, even in our last sanctuary: the
wilderness...?...
now, i'd be more pissed off if land was set aside
and the public taxpayer was COMPLETELY banned
from stepping foot on it; but i certainly
don't see why atv's, pwc's, suv's, motorbikes,
etc, need to be part of our tranquil nature scene.
i don't know...just a couple of cents worth...
