Jeff, there is "careful" and there is "more careful" and there is "too careful" and there is "not careful enough." It becomes a value judgment. I have a friend who dives solo a lot because he thinks nothing will ever go wrong. I wish he wouldnt, but he does. There are actually other divers who would love to dive with him, but he would rather be solo. Its more relaxing for him somehow, or else more efficient. I am just as guilty as he is, but I worry more about him than I do about myself. That seems typical, a common flaw of divers.
