shelf space alone in most cases determines many of the decisions of buyers.
interestingly, when I bought my fins last year, I really wanted ScubaPro jetfins, non-split. the owner of the shop was determined to sell me the split fins. it took persistence to tell him no.
I am very happy with my jetfins. They have been time tested. They dont sell a lot anymore, and there is not much of a profit margin on them, but they work for me.
back to the original point. most people buying equipment have no idea what to get. if something is on the shelf, in their view, they stand a good chance of getting it.
