especially in the case of not being briefed about the situation and risk in advance.

i agree that sharks dont attack, they merely feed. insodoing, they bite, then back off and let the carcass bleed, sort of like we humans do in a butchery shop.

the ecological niche that sharks fill (i have a B.S. in Biology from college) in the Ocean environment is believed to be as scavengers of large prey. they keep the Ocean clean, in the same way that shrimp also do for smaller objects of organic debris, and on land like the ants, flies, predatory cats, wolves, and vultures also do.

Mike said "sue God, or the Big Bang." those two Forces are not subject to human common law. but we are subject to Their natural laws.

for the record: evolution is not a law. that is a misnomer. evolution is an untestable hypothesis which has simply been postulated as a law by common convention. thats probably more biology than any of you wanted to hear about on a thursday morning!

to get back to the shark, the proper ecological thing to do would be to avoid it, at all costs. we call sharks 'the lords of the sea.' we could kill them off, but that would be contrary to the wishes of God and/or The Big Bang, or else sharks would not have been created.
