Another way to look at increased circulation/vasodilation from a hot tub is that such may cause a sudden release of bubbles into the vascular system potentially overloading the pulmonary filtering mechanism. This may have more to do with the advice about not taking a hot shower just after a dive than the issue of bubble expansion from heat. After all, a hot tub won't have a big impact on core temperature short term, just skin temp.
If you're a massively vascularized stud like Wayne, instaneous bubble showers should not be a problem. Everyone else rewarm with hot chocolate
