It has always seemd to me that the use of a hot tub promotes improved circulation in the extremities. This increased blood flow should make the surface interval more productive and allow all that nasty dissolved gas to pass to the lungs and then to the air.

Also after the fourth dive, I am pretty dang cold. All that shivering could promote DCS like shaking up a bottle Diet Coke. So my untested, barely postulated theory is that hot tubs are good for me when I dive. All the rest of you, stay out of the water.
