This is more dive industry crap that you really don't need to worry to much about in reality..
In other words, sure there probably is some studies out there that speak to unscented talc -v- scented and/or KY or any thing else that can be dreamed up..
The final analysis you should be swaping the seals out about annually anyway.. No amount of scented or unscented talc will mean a hill of beans in that short of time...
I use whatever I have in the dive bag.. If it's scented than I'll smell good ;-), if it isn't scented than I'll stink.. And can you guess what if I'm using KY ;-)
BTW, I use baby powder sometimes.. Don't worry to much about it...
