I just had to disspell the Jobs myth there would not have been ANY permanent employment... the people that would work there have jobs now and would leave those jobs to work at the saltworks. More people move into an unreasonably inhospitable area and then when season closes have no where to go. It is not at all like here where a company opens up and four 7-11 stores open near the new mall.
