DFG is proposing that there be a Van Damme State Marine Preserve, which means that it will be a no-take zone. The scoping sessions ("workshops") will be this month, then the final drafts will be drawn up and forwarded to the DFG Commission. It is expected that it will take until about July of next year before the MPAs are brought on line.
