You'll hear alot of theories about 24 hours or most recently 12 hours but in my view is all a crock..

I regularly, about 2 times a month get out of the water after deep, long, decompression dives and get right on an airplane.. Most of the time my gear and my hair is still wet when I'm checking in at the gate.. I had some gate agent 2 months ago ask me why my bags were dripping and I told her because I just got out of the water, she started on about how I should wait 24 hours and almost didn't let me on the plane.. I finally got her to drop that line of advance when I said that I was only in a swimming pool and was testing gear and that I didn't *really* dive...

Just my thoughts...
