Over fishing (commercial or recreational) pollution, and over-development are NOT EQUALLY responsible for the problems our oceans face today.

"Commercial interests take more life from the sea beyond compare to the recreational take".

You CAN fully regulate or limit ONE MORE THEN OTHERS and get results.

Example: NoCal abalone regulations, no commercial take, only freedivers and rock pickers. Limits are throttled depending on the state of the resource. People actually go out and count and measure abs, in place and taken, to better understand what is sustainable and when there is cause for alarm. It is a perfect example of how bottom side up management is done and works.

This is the approach I fully support.

I do not believe in taking an atomic bomb to the negotiation table. Especially when there is no scientific support for such draconian measures.

What is on the table right now will potentially annihilate the dive charter boat industry; severely impact the local commercial fishermen, the freediving industry, and sport diver industry.
