My position is supported by IANTD, the agency that certified me for Nitrox 11 years ago and also by common sense: pure O2 is highly flammable and explosive and a tank could contain chemicals that would ignite when high pressure O2 is injected into it. The fact that this rarely happens is due mainly to the fact that almost all tanks being filled first by pure O2 have been O2 cleaned.
