As far as La Jolla, there is some beautiful diving there. I could tell you about it. Because of its shape underwater, there are some distinct ecologies. One is like Santa Rosa Island. That's where I go. Also there is a special secret out there.
Uh, if that bummed you out, don't go to Pt. Loma.
As for your following your heart/vocation and pursueing biology, my hat must be off to you for your wisdom, but remember, few good deeds go unpunished. I'm curious what you do pursue. Myself, in ways I did the same and did not. Maybe more did than not. From what you say, I would be curious what you think. Go to the other side of my site and look. Tell me what you see and if it feels true.
