I'm sure someone will come up with a reason you'll never need to remove/replace your BC underwater, but as someone whos had to do it,(major entanglement), I'll say that's why I use a weightbelt. I've thought about using an intergrated system, and if I do, I'll split my weights between BC and weightbelt. Some things they teach, like remove/replace BC and weights may not make since, but you never know what's going to happen. Never thought I'd remove my weightbelt, and I never have. A nice peice of kelp removed my weightbelt once. Fortunately I realized what was happening, and was able to roll over and grap for my belt. Got just by my fingertips. I was only at 40fsw, but still glad I was taught how to get those weights back on.
Good luck seapup, and enjoy diving. Always put safety first, and stay alert, you never know what's coming next. Mostly fun stuff, but once in a while.
