Steve,

We recommend using a 1.4 for the working portion of the dive.. You have been consistent in your support of the NOAA 1.6 theory..

So that being said, by selectively snipping a small portion of Dr. Hamiltons work one could be left with the wrong conclusion, so let me put it into proper context..

Using a standard air mix you don't hit a PP02 of 1.6 until you reach 218'.. Using a 32% at 130' yields a 1.6 and using a 36% yields a 1.6 at 114'..

So the overall notion of .5 increases has to be taken relative to the entirety of the issue..

As I noted, we stick with the conservative 1.4 during the working portion of the dive, but will increase to 1.6 while resting at deco..

If you stay within those paramaters you'll be fine..

Later
