smart enough thief to know that if he/she drops the goodies, then going down to get it is a bounce dive, which could be fatal, if the water is deep enough, and/or his/her own dive was long enough.

but then, how would you smuggle a full size 1st stage w/ hoses & 2nd stage off the boat undetected?

other than that, i went through Terry's exact thinking process also. boats rock n roll a lot, so if the hose line wasnt turned on, or if it was pressurized and then turned off as usual, then it could have worked itself loose in the rock n roll if not tight. few people tighten their DIN mounts, since coldness from the Ocean then makes them hard to take off back on the boat for a refill. this is erroneous, but thats what people do.
