As for the mask R & R, I only used that skill as an example since it's the easiet to use absent too much subjective conjecture. I can promise you that the overwhelming majority of PADI instructors that I watch do NOT require any type of swimming ascents without the mask, nor do they take it off the students face when the student isn't ready.. It's generally done while the student is kneeling down and the student take his/her own mask off..
But other than that, in my view, there really isn't a way to discuss this inteligently over a bbs.. It's too subjective and you have your view and I have mine..
I don't know how else to advance this discussion..
