The VIS is affected close to shore (where 99% of dives happen) but the planes land Right before and just after a storm passes over because they sell beer and margarita's during storms. If the storm is a few miles north or south they go right in!.. Got to keep them dollars rolling in!
Three days bounceback usually after a big storm. It can be months after a direct hit. Been there to clean up twice, we found ten foot high piles of coral, crabs and fish all along the shore and it took days just to get a path to condo dug out. Not likely this time.
