I now understand why DIR/GUE is being promoted to the recreational diving community at large: as good as the EE/Halcyon gear is, no way could it stay in business just catering to the elite of technical diving; a very small but highly accomplished niche market. But I think JJ's between a rock and a hard place: he can't honestly promote the gear without promoting the holistic philosphy of DIR and the training regimen of GUE. And that will never capture a significant share of the major market that PADI and the DEMA members dominate at present.
