Daryl thanks for our insightful post. I too have experienced the ease of removal and donning of the backplate system. I used this system in the Galapagos Islands in December of 2000. I had no trouble getting into or out of the zodiacs in really rough seas. And my gear did not sink to the bottom. For extended surface stays...surfmats or life boat kept in pouch is nice feeling.
