Hypalon. Don't buy a boat that uses any other material in the tubes. To be honest, the good boats will use a hybrid material. It will be hypalon on the outside and nylon, PVC, or some other material on the inside.

Typically the brands involved will be Achilles, Noverania, and Zodiac "Pro". Make sure you ask what the material is and don't believe anyone that tells you anything else is "just as good".

Hypalon is a Dupont material that is UV and oil resistant and will typically last more than 10 years when abused and left outdoors 24 7. PVC won't last half as long left outdoors.

All the rest, hard bottom, steering and controls, console, windshield, etc. are just a matter of personal preference vs cost.
