Karen, Altitude affects buoyancy. Purchase a bag of potato chips before you head up to Tahoe and bring them with you. That should be sufficient to demonstrate the effects of altitude. Bring a couple of extra weights. The Lake this time of year should be no colder than Monterey Bay. Let us know how it went.
