I was YMCA Open Water certified in 1986 and am considering taking advanced and rescue diver courses next year. I have some friends who were OPEN Water PADI certified a few years ago and in discussing what they did during thier instruction, it seems they didn't have as intense of a training course as I did such as ditching equipment and floating for 30 minutes while being lectured too. This leads me to ask: Which certification program should I go with (NAUI, PADI, or YMCA)for my advanced and rescue diver courses?
