Out of that small mark up you have to carry inventory, spend time helping a customer decide what to buy, and then if there is a problem -- real or perceived -- then you have to spend time again assistign the customer.
The trouble is that some folks do not realize that they are paying for the service as part of the initial sales price. A non-supportive web based company has no cost after sale support. The customer often takes advantage of this then complains when he gets only what he pays for.
