I could use some opinions. Tonight I got an email from the instructor who's teach my PADI Divemaster class. In a nutshell, he was asking myself and my fellow divemaster candidates to find OW students for him so we would have a class of students to internship with. He was offering a discounted fee for anyone we sent his way.
I have a problem with this. It would be one thing if this was just a suggestion, or if he was offering a discount to some interested friends, but the email implicated that if we weren't able to gather a large enough number of OW students, it would delay our internships and ultimately our certifications. Is this true? If I've completed all my other requirements (academic, watermanship skills) can I have him sign off on what I've completed so I can intern with another instructor? Perhaps one who doesn't need his divemaster candidates to pimp students for him? Any info would be appreciated.
