Bob3 has it wrong.

First, use bungee cord, not surgical tubing.

Second, forming a loop as Bob3 suggests insures the reg will come out at the wrong time.

Two ways to do this right:

1. Using thin bungie cord, secure the two ends of the cord under the mouthpiece zip tie on either side of the mouthpiece. This is permanent.

2. Form a loop using a one piece of thicker bungie in a self-tightening noose so that the loop gets tigher as it is pulled away from the neck. This prevents the the reg from slipping out at the wrong time but allows removal if you want.

Surgical tubing should never be used because:

1. It rots.
2. It's too thick for method 1 above
3. It doesn't work well for method 2 above.
