George,

is it too much to ask for coherent writing? I'm still trying to figure out if you're claiming at 80ft at 2400 = 90ft at 3000. It doesn't.

The practice of overfilling steels is done irrespective of agency in cave country. If we really had the need for more air in CA, we'd do it too. But we're more interested in hunting, hence the largest rate (I venture, without proof) of solo diving on the planet.

I'm aware of quite a few accidents with exploding AL tanks, but not of steel ones. I'm comfortable with those who want to do it, and equally so with operators like Tim who won't go near it. Capt Tim is rather good about allowing personal responsibility in most aspect of diving on the Escape, so I'm perfectly willing to accept his preferences on this matter.
