Obviously it tends to be a bit warmer in the south. You tend to get more days that are divable and vis tends to be better in the south. you will miss some of the lushness of the colder waters and there are more different invertebrates up north as well. in many ways it is similar, especially at the northern islands, but if you get to the southern islands, Santa Barbara, Catalina and San Clemente, you will see a lot of difference.
