I need an air source in the garage for filling car tires and as a workbench air source. Since I've got a surplus regulator 1st stage and a tank that's not being used, I'd like to rig up a hose and the air tools to the LP port on the old reg. I'd appreciate any advice from someone who's done this as there seem to be two ways to go:

1) Use a 7' LP hose ($20) with a regulator to inflator hose adapter ($10), then add an inflator hose compatible tire inflator ($10) and air gun ($15). That way gets expensive but stays compatible with a standard BC hose.

2) Find an air compressor compatible fitting (1/4" NPT?) that will screw directly into the regulator LP port, then use compressor accessories for the hose and tools ($20). This way is cheap but I don't know how to adapt the regulator to the 1/4"NPT compressor fitting.

Thanks for any info

Don
