Calling someone irresponsible and making accusations is easy, when you hide behind your cowardly veil of anonymity.
Do you really believe everyone, including women, who choose to dive that way do so because of some macho attitude?
I don't see it in the people I dive with; most choose to dive that way when it suits their goals.
They dive that way because it reduces drag when they are bug hunting.
Also most use other types of gear when it is appropriate.
They choose to dive in a manner that works well for them.
If you are looking for macho attitude it seems to me it is alive and well in some parts of the tech diving community, which you seem to profess being a part of.
Of course an anonymous coward like you would know nothing of true machismo, that takes having balls.
